W-Locate Solutions Recognized as Best in Mobile GPS and Fleet-Tracking Category

W-Locate Solutions Recognized as Best in Mobile GPS and Fleet-Tracking Category

W-Locate, a location-based services and telematics specialist, is proud to announce that its flagship products, XimLoc and FIND, have been recognized as amongst the best solutions at the 2014 Mobile Star Awards™ in the Mobile GPS and Fleet-tracking category. The accolades are hosted annually by the mobile technology news and directory site MobileVillage.com. The awards were based on peer voting and W-Locate was up against a number of other vendors.

XimLoc from W-Locate is a highly scalable and customizable location-monitoring platform that has been designed from the ground up with third-party API support and compliance with GSMA’s OneAPI initiative in mind. Its unique SIM-based algorithm allows mobile operators to deploy location-based services (LBS) over their own network with minimal capital investment.

Telematics solution FIND uses GPS-based tracking to provide fleet managers with up to date information on a variety of areas including fuel consumption, driver habits, location and speed. Its flexibility has already seen it customized and successfully launched with one of the world’s largest building materials and aggregates suppliers.

“What a fantastic way to start 2015!” said Stevie Ooi, CEO of W-Locate. “Last year we announced our first tier one operator customer who launched a M2M solution and a major deployment with the Ministry of Education in China. I would like to dedicate this award to our highly dedicated and talented team – their hard work and commitment has been truly outstanding.”

The Mobile Star Awards were launched back in 2001 and each year has showcased the best products in categories covering consumer mobile apps, mobile devices, enterprise mobile software or services, technology visionaries and success stories. The winners in each category are chosen by the readers of MobileVillage.com and its bi-weekly “Go Mobile™” email newsletter and recognized as either a Superstar, Shining Star or Rising Star.

“After 14 years, the Mobile Star Awards is still the only competition where today’s most exciting new mobile products and companies can compete against established competitors on a more level playing field,” says Mobile Star Awards director Gary Thayer. “A major part of this is because votes are cast by real users who really love the products—these are the mobile early adopters, mobile IT professionals, and tech bloggers who dominate our readership.”

“Winning a Mobile Star Award is a great accomplishment that’s recognized by the entire mobile industry,” says Mobile Village founder and CEO Jon Covington. “Mobile is the fourth great wave of computing, and there are now millions of mobile products competing for our attention. Mobile Star Award winners and nominees stand out from this crowd as the star innovators to watch and follow.”
